New rec board improves volunteerism and communication

Kamsack started the Community Action Process in 2016. The launch of a local recreation board has improved volunteerism and communication. Here's what else is new in Kamsack when it comes to kids and physical activity:

  • instituted an online Community Calendar and a community-wide registration night
  • implemented a new joint user agreement that allows community groups and non-profits to use town facilities for free
  • hosted an open championship on the town’s brand new disc golf course
  • installed new bleachers at the sports grounds
  • reintroduced baseball (with upgrades to the local ball diamonds) and gymnastics (with a volunteer run program)

To learn more about physical activity in Kamsack and the plan community leaders and residents developed to get local kids moving more, read their Community Profile

What’s next? Kamsack is introducing the Brownies and Scouts programs.
