Saskatchewan in motion Casting Call

November 1, 2011 - Saskatchewan in motion is looking for an outgoing moderately active family that's willing to share their story on video as they strive to overcome life's obstacles and get their kids moving more. A team of experts will work with the selected family to challenge them and also provide tools and resources that will help meet their unique needs. At the end of the video project, the family will receive a reward to make physical activity the easy choice for parents and children. The video will be filmed in November and December in the Regina area.

"We're looking for a typical Saskatchewan family to help us show others how to overcome barriers to physical activity. It doesn't take a superhero to get kids moving more – even small changes can add up," says Cathie Kryzanowski, General Manager of Saskatchewan in motion. "If your kids are more interested in screen time than play time, we could be looking for you."

Interested families should:

  • be concerned about physical activity and are looking for ways to get their kids moving more
  • have kids between the ages of 5 and 13 and are having difficulty making time for physical activity
  • be from the Regina area

Interested families who are willing to appear on video are encouraged to contact Saskatchewan in motion at info@saskinmotion.ca as soon as possible. Additional information about the project and what to include in your application is available at www.saskatchewaninmotion.ca.

Saskatchewan in motion is a province-wide movement that works to get kids moving more. Less than 15% of Saskatchewan kids get the physical activity they need every day. Increasing the physical activity of the kids we care about is a shared responsibility between families, schools and communities to ensure they each do their part to make sure kids get the minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
