Fill Santa’s sleigh with active toys this year!

Saskatchewan in motion’s Active Toy Guide has arrived just in time to give Santa a hand this holiday season! This virtual guide is filled with lots of great gift ideas to help kids of all ages burn off steam, chart an active outdoor adventure and experience the joy of movement.

“Canadian kids spend an average of 7.5 hours a day in front of a screen. We know it’s a challenge for many parents to balance that screen time with active play,” says Cathie Kryzanowski, General Manager of Saskatchewan in motion.

Kids are more active when they spend time outdoors, but sometimes they just need a little nudge. “The Active Toy Guide gives families lots of options to tempt kids away from screens, and encourage active outdoor play over the holidays and throughout the year,” says Kryzanowski.

Saskatchewan in motion recruited some serious toy experts to help with this year’s guide. Six kids gave us their reviews after dancing, throwing, experimenting and playing with some of the new toys in the guide. Saskatchewan-based toy stores, Zippity Zoom Toys, the Painted Parasol and The Sputtergotch Toy Company also sent in their picks for the latest and greatest active toys for 2015.

Like Santa’s sleigh, the in motion Active Toy Guide is overflowing with great active gift ideas for all ages and price ranges. It includes options for indoor and outdoor play for boys and girls, as well as some the whole family can enjoy. You can view or download a copy at

This year, make sure Santa leaves behind a pick or two from the Active Toy Guide to keep the whole family moving all year long!
