Here are some great ideas to help you move it.
There's no shortage of fun ways for youth to increase physical activity within their schools. It just takes a little initiative. Here are a few great ideas.
Top 10 ways for you to move it:
- Instead of driving to a restaurant for lunch, take a walk.
- Try taking the stairs. Pushing numbers on the elevator doesn't quite cut it.
- Choose to take part in physical education. Talk to your PE teacher about activities you'd like to see happen in class.
- Choose an activity that you enjoy, that allows you to move your body every day. You'll be surprised how the time flies by!
- Dance. Wherever, whenever. But maybe not during a final exam.
- Participate in intramurals.
- Go for a short walk in between classes. It'll clear your mind and energize your body.
- Do a few crunches and push-ups everyday, while you're doing homework, when you wake up or before bed.
- Do something fun. Choose a word for the day and whenever someone says it, stop everything and dance. It's a sure conversation starter, too.
- Ask a teacher to take you into the outdoor classroom to learn, not just in biology but all subject areas.
