Boys and Girls Clubs provide low- or no-cost programs that promote the healthy growth and development of young Canadians. One such program - Take It E.A.S.Y. Girl Guides

Guiding helps girls develop skills in camping and the outdoors, life skills and leadership, and involves them in a wide variety of activities including the environment, active living and community service. Contact provincial offices (from website) for more information regarding local guiding programs. New initiatives enable girls who are unable to attend regular meetings due to health or physical challenges to participate via correspondence. Active Living Toolboxes for Sparks, Brownies, Girl Guides and Pathfinders contain activities and games for Guiding groups. Membership fees are minimal.

Scouts Canada offers five programs for boys, girls and youth ages 5 to 26 in nearly 4,500 individual groups in most cities and towns across Canada. More than 121,000 young people enjoy Scouts Canada' programs, which are provided by over 40,000 dedicated volunteers.
